Order my steps…
This is a life I grew up believing …. Go to school, do well and whatever you do don’t fail – not an option. There is shame.
So that’s what I did. I went to school and the fear of disappointing my family pushed me to push harder. I finished school went to university and there too, I pushed hard and forgot to live because of fear. Finished university with 3 jobs on campus and a holiday job (this was for 4 years) at one of the biggest FMCG companies in the world. Got hired straight after my honors year and started working. I did not have a choice – or so I thought.
Fast forward 15 years, I am a beekeeper????????????????. I would’ve laughed???????? in your face if you told me that I would be so in love with these little creatures. Yes, I love honey ???????????? but building a business? Naaaaahhhhh. But the One who created everything had that special assignment for me. I have come to understand that this assignment is bigger than me, it is bigger than entrepreneurship, it is about Genesis 1:26-28. We are responsible for all the creatures on earth. Our responsibility is to care for them because they play a vital role in the ecosystem. Without any of them, we have no life, we cease to exist on earth. My assignment is to create awareness of their importance to us.
The journey from rigid expectation to unexpected passion is a powerful lesson in redefining ‘value.’ It shows that the most meaningful assignments are often those we never planned for. Embracing that unpredictable risk is key to any great venture, whether it’s a life pivot or aiming for a big win at legend link.
